It's an M113 APC

I have it on very good authority that it's an M113. Richard, who was in the Royal Army Medical Corps, tells me so.

He says they turned them into ambulances.

OK, Tom?

I'm very familiar with the M113 as the NZ Army operated them. The M113 has no top return rollers on the tracks. It also has a top hinged engine hatch on the front. The drivers position is on the left

The APC in your photo has two small top return rollers on the tracks. The front hatch does not have the top hinge. The drivers position is on the right.

The FV432 has two small return top rollers on the tracks and the front hatch has bottom hinges. The drivers position is on the right.

Wikipedia shows 65 nations owned or operated the M113. UK isn't on the list. Wikipedia also states in its M113 description "FV432 – a contemporary British APC with similar appearance"

Hi Tom,

I will forward this to Richard and see what he says ...

I always enjoy a good debate that I can watch from the sidelines!
